There is a whole world just waiting to be explored! We seek exciting ways to broaden horizons beyond the classroom, whilst having a fantastic time too.

Across the curriculum we actively seek ways to take learning outside the classroom using our own facilities and those in the local or wider area.

Cambridge is our campus

Junior School students exploringWe also access the unique opportunities that our fantastic city has to offer, including:

  • Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences
  • Scott Polar Research Institute
  • Cambridge University Botanic Garden
  • Fitzwilliam Museum

Pupils also have outdoor experiences, a little further afield. These include day trips to places such as the North Norfolk Coast and Epping Field Centre.

Residential trips

As well as putting skills acquired in school to good use, the pupils participate in team building challenges and have the opportunity to take responsibility for themselves, whilst living and learning away from the familiar environment of home and school. All of our pupils in Years 4, 5 and 6 have are invited to go on their own residential each year. The length of time away, distance from home and level of challenge progresses and builds as they move from Year 4 to 6.

Pupils also have the chance to go on residential trips further afield. Year 5 and 6 have the option to go on extended trips to: France to experience culture and use the language they have learnt in school; Spain to experience a new culture and practise their Spanish linguistic skills; and a week long ski trip with their peers.
