Drama performance

There are plenty of opportunities to take part in Drama activities and performances throughout the year: we aim to be totally inclusive and believe that everyone deserves to play a good role.

Drama in each year group:

Year 3

Year 3 pupils enjoy Drama lessons, during which they work towards informal class presentations and whole school assemblies.

year 4

Weekly Drama lessons, working towards informal class presentations and whole school assemblies.

A performance for friends and family in the summer term to showcase a piece of theatre prepared in lessons and clubs.

year 5

Weekly Drama lessons, working towards informal class presentations and whole school assemblies.

A formal performance of a polished piece of theatre in the Senior School hall in the spring term; rehearsals take place during regular Drama lessons and club sessions which means every pupil in Year 5 is fully involved in the final performance.

Previous productions include Macbeth, Gold, based on the myth of King Midas, and Pirates of the Curry Bean.

year 6

Weekly Drama lessons, working towards informal class presentations and whole school assemblies.

A full-scale evening production performed in the autumn term in our Senior School hall.

Rehearsals take place during regular Drama lessons and club sessions, which means every student in Year 6 is fully involved in the final performance.

Previous productions include Roald Dahl’s The Witches, The Jungle Book and Scrooge.

Other opportunities

After-school Drama clubs are run for different year groups at various times throughout the year.

We also offer Speech lessons for those pupils who would like to further develop their acting or presentation skills. These small groups also work towards LAMDA exams in May.
