  • Parents & Friends Association

The Stephen Perse PFA – Parents and Friends Association – is a parent-led volunteer group, with the primary aim of celebrating and integrating the parent body within the wider Foundation community.

The vast majority of our funds are raised through our fantastic second-hand uniform shop, and these are shared throughout the three Cambridge schools – Early Years, Junior and Senior School – via various educational projects and enrichment events.

    Recent funding grants have provided:

    • A party and inflatables for the Year 6 Leavers
    • Yearbooks for the Year 11 Leavers
    • The Year 7/8 Disco
    • Sports tops for the PE department
    • A ‘periodic table’ sculpture by a local artist for the Junior School

Our priority is community – and all of you, as parents and carers of current students, are part of that.

We would love to hear from anyone who would like to support us, and we welcome ideas on how you would like us to enrich your child’s experience at Stephen Perse Cambridge, as well as your own.

    Why get involved?

Research from the Department of Education and the National Literacy Trust consistently demonstrates a link between parental involvement in a child’s schooling and improved academic performance with positive attitudes towards learning.

School is not something that a young person experiences in isolation - it is a shared journey between student, staff and family. By building your own connections within the school community, you are showing your child/ren the value of engagement and what citizenship and community look like.

    How can I get involved?

Most of our volunteers are working parents, so we understand that your time is a precious commodity. We would love you to come along to some of our events, especially our September start-of-year fair at Latham Road, for the whole school. This year, we will be offering tours around the Stephen Perse Nature Reserve so you can see how the school manages and promotes this biodiversity oasis.

We would also really welcome your presence at one of our monthly coffee mornings, held at a local café, and our AGM, which will be in person at the Senior School. This only happens once a year at the start of the new academic year and is your chance to tell us what you would like to see at Stephen Perse Cambridge.

    Pre-Loved Uniform Shop

The PFA run a pre-loved uniform shop which is run by volunteers Judy and Susie.

    WhatsApp Groups

We also run a WhatsApp group for the Junior School PFA and a separate one for the Senior School PFA - you can tell us if you'd like to be added to one or more of these. They are used solely for posting requests for volunteers or sharing details about upcoming events, so rest assured, we won't bombard your inbox with hundreds of messages. We really look forward to welcoming you and your child/ren to one of our events and please get in touch via the 'Contact the PFA form' below if you have any questions or suggestions for us.
