Years 1 and 2 visited the East Anglian Railway Museum in Wakes Colne, Essex.

It was a brilliant day out with many new experiences for everyone. The children explored the various sheds attached to the station but the highlight was sitting in the carriages as they were very different from today’s train carriages. Some of the girls liked the ‘First Class’ in particular as the seats were very comfortable!

Once back in the classroom, the children looked back on their day. Here is what they had to say:

'First we went and looked at some model railways, I could have watched them all day!'

'When we were in one of the cubicles we called it ‘The Harry Potter Train’ and pretended we were going to Hogwarts'.

'We had to find eight station mice, they were hidden in different places'.
